Unifying Health Center Communications within a Single Platform

Eskenazi Health, a 160+-year-old safety-net system serving Marion County and Central Indiana with more than 1 million outpatient visits a year, needed to modernize and unify communications across pagers, phones, email and in-house systems. Initially focused on disaster alerts, the organization sought a solution that would reliably reach staff across multiple devices and improve everyday intra-departmental messaging.

Everbridge delivered a cloud-based, device-agnostic platform that allowed Eskenazi to send about 1,500 messages a month reliably, continue communications during an internet outage via hotspots and cell phones, and expand use for staffing and unit-level coordination. Features like text tracking, real-time admin changes, restricted incident-operator access, and non-message-based billing improved situational awareness, consistency, and ease of use for both administrators and frontline staff.
