A Everbridge Case Study
The States of Guernsey, the island’s government serving 66,000 residents with 5,500 staff, needed to modernize a newly created joint emergency services control room. With disparate systems in use—web-based texts for ambulance, numeric pagers for fire and rescue, and phone lists for police—the island required a single, resilient notification platform to handle all 999 calls and coordinate skilled personnel quickly and consistently.
Everbridge’s unified mass-notification platform and Yes/No sequencing let the control room contact the right people by multiple channels (email, app, voice) even where mobile coverage is poor. Implementation was fast and intuitive; incident response times dropped significantly, operator call-out time fell from 10–15 minutes to under a minute, 999 queues were reduced, and the system is now being extended island-wide for public alerts and cost-saving communications.
