Sprint, the fourth-largest U.S. mobile network operator serving 54 million customers (as of October 2017), faced a major challenge in accounting for and communicating with a large dispersed workforce during disasters. Prior to adopting an automated system, HR had to stand up teams to call employees one by one, a slow and resource‑intensive process during emergencies.
Sprint implemented Everbridge Mass Notification during the severe 2017 hurricane season to alert employees to building closures and to account for staff after Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. The Business Continuity Office and HR used the platform to send targeted status checks and benefit alerts, saving time, simplifying outreach, and proving an invaluable tool for keeping employees informed and safe.
