Risk intelligence from GSOC supports strategic decision-making for oil and gas company

National Oilwell Varco (NOV), a global leader in oil and gas equipment and services operating in 25 high‑risk regions with 845 locations and thousands of travelers, needed a way to assess operational risk and make business decisions informed by strategic intelligence while protecting employees, assets and continuity of operations.

NOV stood up a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and deployed Everbridge’s Visual Command Center to unify internal and external risk data (weather, terrorism, travel intel from International SOS, etc.), monitor events, and analyze historical trends. The platform let analysts build a holistic view of unstable areas, support a major expansion decision, improve traveler safety and business continuity, and establish the GSOC as a credible strategic partner to the organization.
