Rackspace, a global leader in IT-as-a-service with over 6,000 employees and operations worldwide, faced the challenge of protecting a large, dynamic workforce both on-site and while traveling. Leadership required seamless, easy-to-use security tools that could scale across offices and support a proactive, integrated approach to physical safety and crisis communication.

Rackspace implemented Everbridge, integrated with Shooter Detection Systems’ Guardian and linked to international SOS and NC4 threat feeds, to automate rapid notifications and employee check-ins. The system sends automated active-shooter alerts in under 60 seconds, enabled fast, two-way communication during incidents (employees in London confirmed safety within eight minutes), and significantly improved Rackspace’s ability to reach and protect people globally.
