MDOC selected Nixle as its system of record, enabling geographically targeted or statewide alerts delivered via text, email, voice, mobile app, social media, IPAWS and more — with residents opting in by texting their ZIP code to 888777 or via the MDOC website. The platform provides one‑click multi‑channel sending, allowing the department to instantly inform and protect Michigan residents and broaden its public communications.
