MLC Life Insurance strengthens crisis communications capabilities with Everbridge

MLC Life Insurance, one of Australia’s largest insurers with over 1.3 million customers and a mobile workforce, needed a more reliable way to locate and communicate with employees during crises after recent bushfires and severe weather exposed gaps in its emergency response.

MLC deployed Everbridge Safety Connection in late 2018 and expanded to Everbridge Crisis Management in 2019, giving security teams location detection, incident mapping and a single control point for communications. As a result the team can track and contact all 2,000 staff across Australia, reach about 80% of employees within 30 minutes, more quickly check welfare during events like poor air quality, and better maintain customer service during major incidents.
