A Everbridge Case Study
Interfaith Medical Center (IMC), a multisite community teaching hospital serving over 250,000 Brooklyn patients, relied on a legacy long-range paging system that sent brief, coded messages to everyone and left no room for incident-specific follow-ups. Russ Robinson, IMC’s manager of emergency medicine and preparedness, found the system overloaded the call center and hindered fast, targeted responses—prompting a need for a more reliable, easy-to-use incident notification solution.
IMC implemented Everbridge Aware, building scenario-based and unscheduled message templates, integrating the tool into its emergency response plan, and training call center operators. The system proved its value during an H1N1 alert, winning leadership buy-in; outcomes included faster, more targeted communications, reduced call-center burden, and a transformation of vague pager alerts into a clear, actionable Code Red plan with ongoing refinement.
