How the Port of Los Angeles Used Everbridge To Improve Transportation Safety

The Port of Los Angeles, part of the LA City Harbor Department serving terminals, marinas and attractions in San Pedro and Wilmington with 10,000–20,000 people on site regularly, faces frequent incidents from earthquakes and tsunamis to traffic accidents, fires and hazmat spills. The department needed a fast, reliable way to reach staff, responders and external stakeholders with timely, accurate information during both sudden emergencies and planned large events.

The Port implemented Everbridge’s Unified Critical Communication Suite to consolidate incoming alerts, control message flow, and push targeted notifications to the right people. As a result, responders can rapidly coordinate officers and partner agencies, provide real‑time updates during incidents and events, and have significantly improved internal and external notification, response and recovery capabilities.
