The University of Central Florida (UCF), a large metropolitan research university in a severe‑weather region, faced business continuity and disaster recovery challenges built on static documents and manual, cross‑departmental plan approvals. The Department of Emergency Management needed a more mature, compliant, and scalable approach to coordinate teams, protect research, and lead resilience efforts across the campus.

UCF adopted BC in the Cloud®, a configurable, fully integrated platform that was tailored to Florida Board of Governance terminology, secured research and IP, and provided dashboards to map downstream impacts. In less than a year the solution was rolled out to 30 departments, enabled stakeholders to review and approve plans directly, produced a centralized inventory of third‑party vendors and apps, and created a single source of truth to better quantify disruptions, allocate resources, and raise overall readiness.
