A leading private research university’s IT department supports numerous systems across campus facilities, data centers and networks. During outages the university lacked a centralized way to alert and assemble on‑call staff, forcing teams to search for schedules and contact information and slowing coordinated incident response.
The university deployed Everbridge IT Alerting to automatically notify, escalate and gather the right on‑call staff (NOC, app development, data storage, etc.) on a conference bridge for P1 and other priority incidents. The tool improved NOC efficiency and faster triage by ensuring the correct resolvers are contacted, is increasingly used for routine issues, and will be integrated with the ITSM ticketing system to further automate communications.
