Case Study: Microsoft Corporation achieves streamlined global security operations and reduced costs with Everbridge's Visual Command Center

A Everbridge Case Study

Preview of the Microsoft Corporation Case Study

Breaking down information silos to improve GSOC efficiency and effectiveness

Microsoft’s Global Security Operations Centers (GSOCs) monitor the safety of more than 700 facilities and thousands of employees worldwide, but operators were overwhelmed by more than 60 unconnected systems and hundreds of live feeds (video, card readers, news, weather). That fragmentation made it hard to correlate events with assets, identify who was affected, and respond quickly and cost‑effectively.

By deploying Everbridge’s Visual Command Center, Microsoft consolidated internal and external data into a single interactive map with alerts, spatial queries, and access to cameras, building systems, and incident logs. The GSOCs gained faster, centralized situational awareness, reduced staffing costs, improved response times (proven during events like the Japan earthquake and the Arab Spring), and streamlined reporting and field coordination.
