Houston Methodist Hospital, a top-ranked health system with eight hospitals and 100 clinics, faced a sudden data-center power threat that put patient care, clinical systems, and HR/financial data at risk. With much of the IT team working remotely and network and communications degraded, the hospital needed to triage recovery quickly to avoid disrupting care and operations.
Because HMH had migrated its disaster plans into BC in the Cloud and regularly tested them, staff could log in from anywhere, follow a task-based recovery playbook, and coordinate in real time. Critical systems were restored in two hours and all clinical systems within six; post-incident lessons prompted a new power panel and improved communications and procedures to strengthen future resilience.
