Coordinating a life-saving flood evacuation in Kenya

Kenya Experienced faced a life-threatening flood crisis in Kenya, where severe flooding stranded travelers and communities in remote areas, including three people trapped on a water tower at a bush camp. With roads washed out and communications limited, the situation required immediate coordination and a rapid evacuation response, supported by Everbridge emergency response services.

Everbridge deployed its Security Operations Team and local security partner to manage the incident, secure a helicopter, and coordinate real-time communications among all stakeholders. The travelers were rescued and transported to Nairobi within 12 hours, and Everbridge also helped support the safe evacuation of an additional 30 people, demonstrating fast, scalable crisis response and strong situational awareness.
