Streamlining food quality management with xMatters

Kroger partnered with Everbridge’s xMatters service reliability platform to improve food risk management and automate refrigerated and frozen food monitoring. Before the change, temperature issues often triggered broad email blasts because it was hard to identify the right responder, slowing response and increasing the risk of food waste, service disruptions, and health concerns.

Everbridge implemented an incident management system that used staff schedules, escalation paths, SMS, email, phone calls, and in-store announcements to route incidents automatically. The solution integrated with Kroger’s IoT sensors and database, reducing mean time to resolve to under two minutes and making refrigerated food management far more effective.
