EventTracker simplifies SIEM for labor union

Large Labor Organization, a Washington DC–based labor union with 350 staff serving over 300,000 members, needed a log-management/SIEM solution that met strict government requirements (NIST 800-53, FISMA) while being manageable by its 12‑person IT team and including a managed-service element. After evaluating options including Splunk, the organization selected EventTracker and its SIEM Simplified offering because it was affordable, easier to run, and included services to augment the internal team.

EventTracker deployed agents across roughly 500 desktops, servers, endpoints and firewalls within the first week, and the relatively simple rollout allowed the organization to bring all device and security tool data into EventTracker SIEM Simplified. Within six months the union hired its first full‑time information security staffer to fine‑tune the system; the deployment has enabled detection of previously unnoticed activity (suspicious external traffic, improper group additions, logins from unexpected geographies), improving the organization’s security posture and visibility.
