City of Liberty Finds Efficiency and Security with EventTracker

The City of Liberty, Missouri, a municipal government serving nearly 30,000 residents and managing police, fire, utilities and parks, was spending excessive time manually searching event logs across 40 physical and virtual servers in five locations. To address frequent account lockouts, CPU- and disk-space–consuming processes, and a lack of reliable notifications, The City of Liberty deployed EventTracker Enterprise from EventTracker in April 2011.

EventTracker automated log monitoring and real-time alerting after about a week of alert customization, notifying IT staff of outdated passwords, crashing services and memory-hungry SQL processes so they could prioritize fixes. EventTracker’s dashboard and alerts cut investigation time from days to minutes, improved mail server uptime, helped proactively resolve hard-drive space issues, and “dramatically” increased operational efficiency for the city’s IT team.
