SAAB Kockums, a major defence contractor, faced challenges with the manual, inefficient process of delivering and reviewing vital technical documentation for the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV). The lack of a common digital platform resulted in costly manual quality checks for both organizations. To address this, they partnered with Eurostep to implement a solution.
Eurostep implemented its ShareAspace software as a common collaboration hub. This PLCS standards-based portal digitalized the delivery and review process, creating a controlled staging area for information. The solution significantly reduced lead times for acceptance and reviews, provided a mechanism that could be reused with other suppliers, and eliminated the need for costly direct integration between the different organizations' business systems.
