Case Study: ResCoM achieves multi-lifecycle PLM collaboration with Eurostep ShareAspace

How a standards-based PLM solution supports the circular economy

ResCoM, a European Commission co-funded project, needed a practical framework and a software platform to support closed-loop manufacturing and manage products through multiple lifecycles, a capability lacking in traditional PLM systems. They partnered with Eurostep to address this challenge and develop a collaborative platform built for remanufacturing and sustainability.

Eurostep delivered the solution by extending its ShareAspace PLM Collaboration software with new functions for multi-lifecycle management, including processes for remanufacturing and tracking product evolution. They also built the ResCoM Web API to provide a common interface for developers. This resulted in the first multi-lifecycle PLM platform, which enables enterprise-wide collaboration for analyzing closed-loop systems and allows businesses to utilize resources more efficiently, saving costs and supporting sustainability.
