Beazley, a major London Market carrier, needed a strategic underwriting platform to support planned Lloyd’s growth and to replace legacy quote and risk entry systems. Key challenges included eliminating Capita data rekeying, integrating with systems such as DMS, RMS and the group MI warehouse ("Beazley Intelligence"), and strengthening regulatory controls and reporting. In 2010 Beazley selected Eurobase and its synergy2 platform to leverage an existing Eurobase investment and deliver a modern, integrated underwriting solution.

Eurobase implemented synergy2 (using its latest application architecture and .NET components) to restructure underwriting data entry, enable integrations, and centralise reporting and controls. The rollout supported about 400 users, delivered circa £250k annual cost savings, avoided over £5m of full system replacement cost, and materially reduced operational and regulatory risk (improving Solvency II and compliance controls). Eurobase’s solution also removed Capita rekeying and significantly improved security, mitigating a multi‑million pound breach exposure and delivering measurable business value.
