City Utilities of Springfield, a community-owned utility serving over 111,000 customers, faced long lines for cash payers, security risks from dropbox payments, delayed posting that led to late penalties and dangerous shutoffs, and the need for an equitable option for unbanked residents. To address these challenges, CU turned to Euna Solutions and its Euna Payments self-service kiosk solution to provide accessible, secure bill-pay options.

Euna Solutions installed multiple branded kiosks (through-wall, indoor, and at a bus transfer station) integrated with CU’s Revenue Management system, enabling 24/7 cash, card, and check payments. The kiosks drove measurable impact: 100% of walk-in customers now use the kiosks, average transaction time is 51 seconds, 59% of kiosk users pay in cash, and 40% of payments occur outside business hours—while improving security, real-time posting, and staff capacity.
