A ETQ Case Study
General Motors, a global automaker committed to safety and sustainability, faced rising EHS complexity from changing regulations and a fragmented, manual compliance approach. Data was collected on paper and in local Excel/Word files or costly in‑house apps, creating inefficiencies, validation delays, information silos and an inability to scale consistent EHS processes across its global manufacturing footprint.
GM implemented ETQ Reliance, a low‑code, configurable EHS platform, and expanded it across more than ten functions to automate audits, asset decommissioning, regulatory scheduling and supplier savings reporting. The platform delivered real‑time KPIs and alerts, eliminated silos and reduced costs—one tear‑out project saved over $165,000 (about 85% under budget) while generating more than $1M in scrap revenue—helping GM scale compliance and drive continuous improvement.
