Case Study: Okta achieves GDPR-compliant unified analytics and reduced risk with Etleap

A Etleap Case Study

Preview of the Okta Case Study

Etleap and AWS help Okta source data with an analyst-friendly, governed ETL solution

Okta, a San Francisco–based enterprise identity and access management company, needed to strengthen data governance to meet GDPR and other privacy requirements while still unifying disparate data for analysis from sources like Salesforce, Marketo, and Jira. To prevent PII from entering its analytics warehouse and to track where personal data lived across systems, Okta adopted Etleap’s governed ETL service (built for AWS) to control what fields are extracted and how sensitive data is handled before loading.

Etleap implemented a managed ETL pipeline that lets Okta identify, whitelist/blacklist, hash, obfuscate, or remove PII at source, preserve record uniqueness for analytics, and load governed data into AWS repositories. The result: clear visibility into PII usage, GDPR-compliant analytics workflows, reduced time-to-value for pipelines from months to minutes, and significant engineering time savings—what would have taken nearly two months to build was delivered out of the box by Etleap.
