A Etch Case Study
Save the Children UK partnered with Etch to address a challenge faced by nurseries in deprived areas: how to encourage more positive verbal interaction between parents and children during the nursery pickup and the journey home. Using Etch's design thinking methodology, the project aimed to build parents' confidence and provide them with simple, fun activities to boost early childhood language development.
Etch facilitated a design sprint to rapidly prototype and test three concepts, including informational banners, interactive activity boards, and a take-home letter. After testing these with parents and iterating based on feedback, the validated solutions were implemented in nurseries in Scotland. The process enabled Save the Children UK to de-risk its investment by learning what parents responded to before committing to a full-scale launch.
