Sepcoiii optimizes a 334 MW renewable grid with ETAP

SEPCOIII, an EPC contractor and subsidiary of POWERCHINA, was faced with the technology challenges of designing and managing a massive, fully renewable distributed energy power system for the city-scale Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia. Their objectives were to integrate vast amounts of renewable energy, ensure grid reliability, and implement a secure platform for grid management. To overcome this, they turned to vendor ETAP and its ETAP Grid™ solution, a comprehensive transmission and distribution management system (TDMS).

ETAP implemented its ETAP Grid™ software, which provided a real-time power generation and energy management system. The solution delivered a centralized platform for operations, including advanced distribution management, outage management, and integration with other systems. This empowered grid resiliency and reliability for the smart city, reduced maintenance through remote monitoring, and provided improved insights via digital simulation to optimize the network. The result is a long-term solution that helps SEPCOIII achieve better optimizations and improve overall system stability.
