EnergyTron cuts GIS migration from 18–20 hours to under 3 hours with ETAP

EnergyTron, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, faced significant challenges in modeling its large-scale, complex electrical distribution networks. The extreme complexity of the network, constant field evolution, and high risk of error from manual redrawing of outdated diagrams made accurate and efficient modeling nearly impossible. To address this, EnergyTron turned to vendor ETAP and its ETAP GIS product to enable accurate, georeferenced network modeling.

The solution implemented by ETAP involved direct integration with ESRI ArcGIS to automatically convert and migrate system model data, transferring all electrical and geospatial information. This collaboration drastically reduced manual intervention and eliminated errors. A key measurable result was that ETAP reduced the migration time for network data from 18-20 hours to under 3 hours, providing major time savings and error-free modeling based on real as-built information.
