Barrett Inc is a long-established commercial and institutional roofing subcontractor serving the Northeast. After adopting eTakeoff (Premier), their estimator Brent Goren needed to produce fast, accurate estimates across many roofing systems while working entirely from electronic plans — a challenge made urgent by the high volume of roof repairs after Hurricane Sandy.

eTakeoff’s Premier tools and custom extensions were implemented to automate slope adjustments, hip/valley lengths and dome surface calculations, and to combine plan and elevation measurements via the Quantity Worksheet, Measurement tools and Excel/bid code integration. Using eTakeoff, Barrett Inc streamlined takeoffs, reduced manual dragging and missed items through Audit Mode and bid-code automation, and improved the speed and accuracy of estimates during a surge of storm-related work.
