Sandals, a Caribbean luxury travel operator, engaged ESV Digital to improve paid search efficiency without reducing revenue. They needed to optimize search activity so they could introduce other channels like RTB while maintaining the same online marketing budget and Cost of Sale targets, and to stop broad match keywords from cannibalizing phrase- and exact-match performance.
ESV Digital converted US broad-match keywords to Broad Match Modified, added high-performing exact-match queries, and set KPIs to minimize CoS and lift revenue and conversion rate. The work delivered strong results: 100% non-rank-based impression share, a 46.7% YoY drop in Cost of Sale, 26% YoY revenue growth, a 45% YoY increase in conversion rate, and exact-match traffic share rose 18 points to 79%.
