A Esusu Case Study

Preview of the BH Case Study

How BH improved the credit scores of 6,400+ renters to an average of 671 points in only 4 months

BH, a national multifamily owner and operator founded in 1993 that manages 330 properties and 100,000+ units, wanted to expand its ESG efforts in 2021 with a social-impact solution that would help residents thrive financially. Facing residents who struggled to pay rent or wanted to make rent go further, BH selected Esusu to provide rent reporting and rent-stability services that aligned with the company’s mission to improve residents’ living experiences.

BH piloted Esusu’s rent reporting service (and Esusu Rent Relief, a 0% interest rent stability loan) in December 2021, integrating it with Yardi and Entrata and enrolling residents on an opt-out basis. Within four months more than 6,400 enrolled residents saw credit improvements: 56% improved their scores, the average credit score rose to 671, 101 residents established scores for the first time, and 11% moved from sub-660 tiers into 661+. Esusu’s reporting (including up to 12 months of prior on-time rent) delivered quick, measurable gains in resident credit and financial stability.
