Surface Ventures Makes Financial Analytics Real-time with Estuary and Motherduck

Surface Ventures, a venture capital firm, needed to achieve sub-second analytics on its investment and portfolio risk data. The challenge was to run complex queries with extremely low latency from the moment data was entered into their Neon database. They turned to Estuary for a real-time data integration solution.

Estuary provided a solution using its streaming change data capture (CDC) to move data from Neon to Motherduck. This implementation was completed in just two days and resulted in sub-second end-to-end latency for complex risk analytics. The combined use of Estuary and Motherduck also achieved a cost that was ten times lower than the alternative options considered.
