A ESSENTIAL Accessibility Case Study
Merck, a global healthcare leader operating in more than 140 countries, sought to make its internal and external digital properties inclusive and disability-friendly. To achieve this goal, Merck partnered with eSSENTIAL Accessibility to deploy accessibility tools and services, including an assistive technology app, a Brand Disability Channel, and digital evaluation and remediation work aligned to WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA.
eSSENTIAL Accessibility implemented the assistive tech on Merck’s sites, added the interactive Brand Disability Channel, and conducted technical and functional testing with people with disabilities followed by code-level remediation recommendations. The result: improved accessibility and compliance with web standards, a stronger culture of inclusion and on-the-job support for employees with disabilities, and measurable engagement — more than 13,000 individuals have digitally engaged with Merck to date.
