St. Johns County Utilities Uses Insights for ArcGIS to Analyze Cityworks Asset Management for Making Business Decisions

St. Johns County Utilities, a medium-sized water and sewer utility serving 46,000 accounts and 110,000 customers in coastal Northeast Florida, needed to move beyond static GIS asset tracking to manage operations, plan capital projects, and make data-driven business decisions as its service area grew. To meet those challenges the utility adopted ESRI’s Insights for ArcGIS (integrated with Cityworks Analytics) to enable mobile, collaborative, real-time analysis of asset, maintenance, inventory, and capital project data.

ESRI implemented Insights workbooks and a discovery workshop that let staff explore Cityworks asset-management data on the fly, using filters, charts, and live visuals. The solution produced four focused workbooks (treatment-plant maintenance, rehabilitation projects, material stock management, and capital improvements), quickly identified the greatest area of need for manhole funding, helped prioritize projects for budgeting, saved staff time, and improved CIP transparency and data-driven decision making across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Administration.
