Central Electric Power Cooperative - Customer Case Study

Central Electric Power Cooperative (CEPC), which operates a 1,555‑mile transmission network across 22,000 square miles of central Missouri, was burdened by decades of paper maps and inconsistent field and office data that reduced inspection and maintenance efficiency. To unify information, enable offline field work, and improve navigation and asset data collection, CEPC turned to ESRI and its ArcGIS platform (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS Navigator, ArcGIS Pro).

ESRI helped CEPC build a high‑resolution basemap tile package for offline use, migrate paper and electronic records into Collector feature layers, create smart inspection forms with Survey123, and provide routing with Navigator; after a three‑month pilot CEPC trained its crews and moved to full deployment. The result: linemen now use company iPads as a single source of truth, can complete daily assignments without calling the office, and CEPC has streamlined operations and dramatically improved field efficiency across its entire service area.
