A eSpark Learning Case Study
Piedmont City School District, a rural district with a high percentage of students on free or reduced lunch, faced a challenge in providing consistent, differentiated learning support as students moved between grades. While their K-3 students used eSpark Learning's program on iPads, their 4th and 5th-grade students used MacBooks and were previously unable to access the eSpark platform, creating a discontinuity in their personalized learning journey.
To solve this, eSpark Learning developed a new web-based version of its program, making it accessible on any device including MacBooks and Chromebooks. Piedmont piloted this new solution for their 4th and 5th-grade math and ELA classrooms. The results included significant student growth, with teachers reporting that eSpark saved them time in differentiating instruction and provided valuable feedback on student comprehension. The vendor, eSpark Learning, also noted that student state test scores in language reflected this growth.
