Case Study: Mayer Unified School District #43 improves instruction and keeps teachers engaged with eSpark Learning

A eSpark Learning Case Study

Arizona School District cuts 10 unused tools and keeps eSpark as its only reading and math intervention

The Arizona School District faced a significant challenge after 15 years without a formal curriculum, leading to inconsistent instructional practices and low test scores among students with disabilities. To address this, the district adopted a new core reading curriculum and undertook a review of its technology stack, which included numerous underutilized programs. eSpark Learning's intervention program was one of the tools in use at the time.

The district's solution was to cancel ten unused programs, saving $26,000, while deliberately retaining eSpark as its sole purchased intervention tool for both reading and math. The results were strong teacher and student adoption, with usage exceeding twice weekly. This supported the district's instructional goals and contributed to a six-point increase in state test scores for students with IEPs and 504 plans, a critical step forward under state review.
