Case Study: JEMS improves EMS outcome tracking and quality measures with ESO

A ESO Case Study

Preview of the JEMS Case Study

JEMS - Customer Case Study

JEMS worked with ESO to better connect EMS run data with hospital outcomes, solving a long-standing challenge where patients “vanished” after ED handoff and crews had little visibility into final diagnoses or dispositions. Using ESO’s EMS reporting software and interoperability with participating hospital systems, JEMS wanted a clearer way to review patient outcomes, support quality improvement, and evaluate field decision-making.

ESO implemented a bi-directional data-sharing workflow that links EMS ePCR records with hospital information, allowing JEMS to see dispositions, diagnoses, labs, ED length of stay, and even PDF run records for transported patients. The result has been stronger clinical feedback for medics, with increased follow-up questions and better retrospective learning, plus new quality initiatives such as STEMI performance review and planned sepsis analysis using EtCO2 as a surrogate for lactate.
