Implementing HDE to Benefit Hospitals and EMS While Improving Patient Care
St. Elizabeth Healthcare, a five-hospital system in Northern Kentucky, needed a better way to collaborate with EMS agencies, streamline documentation, reduce staff fatigue, and improve access to prehospital data. To address these challenges, the healthcare system turned to ESO and its Health Data Exchange (HDE) solution.
With ESO’s HDE, St. Elizabeth Healthcare was able to integrate EMS data more effectively into the hospital setting, improve staff compliance, and make run record collection far more efficient. The system increased run record collection from 60% pre-HDE to 98% after implementation, while also reducing paperwork burden and helping EMS agencies use outcomes data to support more evidence-based training and patient care.
