Nash County EMS in North Carolina partnered with ESO to address rising hospital turnaround times as call volume and emergency department congestion increased. The agency was using ESO’s ePCR software and analytical package to track turnaround time trends, revealing that average delays had grown from a little over 20 minutes to more than 30 minutes.
Using ESO Analytics and a data-driven approach, Nash County EMS worked with hospital leaders, reviewed internal processes, held regular follow-up meetings, and empowered staff to help improve turnaround performance. As a result, the agency reduced average turnaround times from just over 30 minutes to less than 26 minutes between July and October 2015, helping free up ambulances and improve unit availability.
