AstraZeneca Creates 3D Models of Pharmaceutical Packaging with Studio

AstraZeneca, a global biopharmaceutical company, needed to improve the quality of its packaging mock-ups, particularly for folded boxes. They wanted a way to quickly generate and share high-quality 3D virtual models with internal customers to speed up reviews. To meet this challenge, they turned to the vendor Esko and its product, the Studio plug-in for Adobe Illustrator.

By implementing Esko's Studio, AstraZeneca's designers could quickly create accurate 3D PDF models from their artwork within the familiar Adobe Illustrator environment. This solution generated faster internal approvals, streamlined the process, eliminated the cost of external agency fees for mock-ups, and significantly improved designer productivity. The high quality of the 3D models was so impressive that other departments began requesting them for promotional materials.
