Whirlpool, the world’s No. 1 global appliance brand, was processing more than 1.5 million order-related documents a year—mostly by fax—across its global operations. Manual copying, data entry into SAP and paper filing created a three-day order backlog, average order entry times of 40 minutes, heavy warehouse storage and the potential need for dozens of additional CSRs, while missed proof-of-delivery documents delayed payments.
Whirlpool implemented Esker DeliveryWare on-premises (with Dolphin IT) to automate order capture, entry and archiving directly into SAP and IBM Common Store, and to automate outbound communications. The solution eliminated the backlog, cut order-entry time from 40 minutes to 11 seconds–2 minutes, reduced paper and warehouse storage, avoided hiring more CSRs and freed customer service staff to focus on higher-value work.
