A Esker Case Study
Travelex, the world’s largest non-bank foreign exchange operator, processes roughly 800–1,000 corporate orders a day across 97 countries and faced labor‑intensive, error‑prone manual processes for order confirmations and supplier remittance advices. Meeting regulatory and service SLAs (confirmations within one hour) was difficult: staff spent some 40 hours/week on faxing confirmations and another 40 hours/week on cheque remittance tasks, with occasional confidential mis‑faxes and delays as Travelex moved to EFT payments.
Travelex implemented Esker DeliveryWare, whose General Document Recognition (GDR) automatically identifies confirmation and remittance document types, applies delivery rules without changing Comfex or SAP, and supports email, fax, web and print delivery. The automation eliminated manual faxing, sent remittance advices with EFT payments, freed two full‑time equivalents, improved accuracy and supplier confidence, delivered greater delivery flexibility and employee satisfaction, and produced substantial cost savings (≈AU$150K in year one), a 154% ROI and a five‑month payback.
