American Meter Company, a long-standing supplier of gas meters and measurement equipment and part of the Elster Group, operates a back office of over 300 staff across 13 North American sites. After rolling out SAP to centralize customer data and commercial correspondence, leadership identified a remaining bottleneck: manual printing, assembly and delivery of invoices, purchase orders and confirmations that wasted time and resources and slowed transaction processing.
To resolve this, the company implemented Esker DeliveryWare integrated directly with SAP to automate electronic faxing and document delivery. The solution immediately converted about half of ~4,000 monthly documents to electronic delivery, cutting time spent on manual tasks, freeing staff for higher-value work, improving scalability and prompting plans to expand Esker’s desktop fax capabilities.
