The Pharmacy Verification Network, an online service that maintains secure pharmacy profiles for PBMs, health plans and pharmacy operators, faced a costly, time-consuming document process for distributing and collecting contract paperwork. A PBM client was sending thousands of postal mailings from a fully staffed mailroom, requiring follow-up calls, manual review and filing—creating high labor costs, paper waste and tight deadlines as the organization moved toward a greener, more efficient model.

PVN implemented Esker on Demand integrated with its Laserfiche document system to automate delivery by email, fax and postal mail using hosted business rules, tracking and reporting, with inbound faxes routed automatically into Laserfiche. The solution freed staff time, eliminated printing and envelope stuffing, cut mailing costs by about one-third, reduced fax costs, removed a 1% data-merge error rate, and saved the equivalent of five full-time positions while improving visibility and turnaround.
