Bel Spain, part of the Bel Group (food & beverage), faced inefficient, paper-heavy order-to-cash processes: roughly 25,000 customer orders a year (only 33% in EDI), 89% of invoices sent by post, frequent lost mail and rework, and a need for seamless integration with SAP. The company sought to automate order capture, invoice sending and archiving to reduce errors, speed processing and move toward paper-free handling.
Esker’s solution automated electronic invoicing (signed PDFs generated from SAP and emailed/archived) and converted faxed/emailed orders into EDI for direct SAP integration, helping two-thirds of orders shift to electronic channels and enabling 100% automated exchanges with non-EDI partners. Results included faster order processing, lower DSO, real-time tracking and KPIs, improved customer/vendor communication, elimination of manual archiving with estimated annual savings of €4,500, and overall time and cost reductions.
