Tech Data Corporation, a Fortune 500 global distributor serving more than 125,000 IT resellers and generating $24.1 billion in annual sales, faced a challenge handling high-volume, low-value purchase orders—about $90 million daily with average orders under $1,000—many of which arrived by fax or email and required manual reentry. The company also needed improved business continuity and disaster recovery for faxing as it moved away from traditional PSTN/T1 boards.

Tech Data implemented Esker DeliveryWare to automate capture, OCR and routing of non-EDI orders (converting diverse formats to X12) and deployed Dialogic Brooktrout SR140 Fax Software with a virtualized FoIP environment. The solution accelerated order processing, reduced errors, increased fax uptime and recovery speed, consolidated fax servers from seven to two, centralized administration, freed IT resources for critical tasks, and strengthened disaster preparedness.
