Faxing With Financial Efficiency Through FlyDoc

The Swiss Colony, founded in 1926 as America’s first mail‑order cheese business, has grown into a major catalog and online retailer of food and non‑food gifts. For more than a decade about 200 employees relied on a homegrown fax server in the company data center to send orders, customer service letters, logistics communications and supplier notices. As the system aged, maintenance costs rose while customers increasingly preferred email, so Swiss Colony needed a way to retain fax capability without investing in costly new hardware.

Swiss Colony chose FlyDoc, a hosted, web‑based document delivery service that sends documents by fax, postal mail or email and provides 24/7 web tracking and live support. The pay‑as‑you‑go model eliminated large setup and hardware expenses, reduced internal support burdens and gave departments visibility into their fax spending. Since starting the rollout, users of the legacy fax server have dropped from 200 to 70 and the company plans to migrate all remaining users to FlyDoc, realizing immediate cost savings and more efficient customer communications.
