Enabling Streamlined Document Delivery Out of An SAP Solution

Powell Electronics, a 60-year-old distributor of standard and custom electronic connectors serving aerospace, defense and industrial customers, relied on SAP 4.7 for nearly all order, inventory and sales processes. When their legacy TOPCALL fax solution became unreliable and difficult to use—especially for sending documents from SAP and Outlook—Powell needed a replacement that would integrate seamlessly with SAP and offer more modern document delivery options.

They implemented Esker DeliveryWare to automate document flows directly from SAP, enabling fax, email, physical mail and extended EDI capabilities. The solution eliminated manual order entry and paper handling, accelerated document turnaround, reduced costs and errors, and proved easy to expand (adding emailed shipping notices and other documents).
