A Esker Case Study
American Century Investments, a leading investment manager, needed to replace an aging desktop fax system that was critical to business processes (and contractually required by partners). With monthly inbound and outbound fax volumes in the tens of thousands of pages, the company required a versatile, reliable solution that supported both mainframe and desktop faxing, redundancy, load balancing, failover and seamless Lotus Notes integration.
American Century selected Esker Fax for Notes, deploying two 24-line servers to provide redundancy, automatic failover and tight Notes integration with minimal conversion effort. The implementation resolved issues with password-protected attachments, improved stability (servers ran three months without downtime), eliminated many fax-machine maintenance costs, required virtually no end-user training, and enabled the company to bring more faxing in-house and consider expanded document-delivery options.
