Birmingham Fastener, a fast-growing distribution and manufacturing company, was struggling to keep up with expanding accounts payable workloads while relying on manual processes and disconnected communication. Although the company had already digitized documents with Enlighten.Net’s ENet Docs, it needed a more industry-specific AP automation solution, so it turned to Esker to reduce manual work and improve visibility.

Esker implemented AI-driven AP automation that integrated with ENet Docs and Birmingham Fastener’s Epicor P21 ERP, enabling touchless invoice processing, automated coding, audit trails, analytics, and mobile approvals. The results were significant: after one year, 74.3% of PO invoices were posting automatically, payment discount capture improved from 85% to 98%, and Birmingham Fastener was able to handle growing invoice volumes without adding headcount.
