A Esker Case Study
Isaac Construction, a Christchurch-based civil construction firm with 300+ staff that recently acquired Simcox Construction (adding ~80 people), was struggling to manage a sudden increase in accounts payable volume. Its largely paper-based AP process, compounded by differing workflows and a remote office, left staff chasing documents, lacking invoice visibility and risking delays to on-time payments.
To fix this, Isaac implemented Esker’s cloud-based AP automation (via Fuji Xerox NZ) in mid‑2019: suppliers send invoices to a dedicated inbox that Esker captures, extracts, routes for approval and schedules payments. The result is near-elimination of paper, real-time visibility and tracking across sites, mobile approvals, automated alerts for exceptions, thousands of invoices handled monthly and reduced AP staffing needs while preserving supplier relationships.
